From 1949 throught 1953 (100-344), they basiacally issued a green label with "Long Playing Microgroove" on the bottom. From 1953 through 1958 (345-1010) a turquoise label with "Long Playing" on the bottom was in effect, with gray/black label also used during this time. Yellow label promos were issued.
From 1958-1959 (1021-1225), Capitol switched to a black label with a "rainbow" perimeter and the Capitol dome logo on the left side. From 1959-1962 (1225-1700), the black/rainbow label had the logo and a silver line on the left. Black label promos with "Not For Sale" on the bottom were issued.
From 1962 through 1969 (1700-2999 and 100-261), Captiol issued a black label with the dome logo on top. From 1969 through 1972, Capitol`s albums were issued on a lime green label. Capitol has since used red, yellow, and purple labels before returning to the black rainbow label of the `60s.
The early 10"s albums bore an "H" prefix. Throughout the above years 12" mono albums bore a "T" or "W" prefix with "ST" or "SW" for stereo. A "DT" or "DW" prefix indicates reprocessed stereo, the "D" referring to Capitol`s "Duophonic" method of altering the mono signal beyond recognition. Special packaging, such as gatefold cover, were often designated as "TAO/STAO" or "KAO/SKAO".

In meiner Artist Gallery hatte ich aus dem Netz heruntergeladene Biographien, Fotos und Diskographien der Interpreten meiner privaten Schallplattensammlung und des Secondhand-Angebots öffentlich zugänglich gemacht. Nach völlig überzogenen Abmahnungen mehrerer Anwaltskanzleien habe ich nun alle Fotos von Interpreten für den öffentlichen Zugang gesperrt. Die Gesetzeslage verlangt, dass man für jedes Foto und jede Kurzbiographie oder Zeitungsmeldung zu einem Interpreten eine Genehmigung einholt und eine Lizenzgebühr bezahlt, auch wenn diese gar nicht der Verkaufsförderung dienen. Ein Disclaimer, Fotos oder Texte zu entfernen, wenn der Urheber dies verlangt, schützt leider in Deutschland nicht vor Schadensersatzforderungen und Abmahngebühren.
